Function documentationInbound Interface for Layout Modules

You use this interface to import layout modules into SAP F&R. You use layout modules to group articles that you want to display in the same place in a store. A layout module can correspond to one or more shelves.

Integration

  • Layout modules map the shelves in the stores. You use layout modules in the store for planning and in sales.

    • A layout module can contain several layout module versions. A layout module version has a validity period and contains the products on a shelf. You can assign a product to several layout module versions and you can also position a product in different places on the shelf within the same layout module version. If the validity period changes, the system requires the layout module version.

    • Layout module variants relate to exactly one layout module version and they are used to map regional or store-specific variations in layout modules. Layout module variants have exactly the same validity period as the version to which they relate. They contain newly added products and products to be removed, that is, only the changes to the layout module version; they contain no unchanged products.

    • You assign the layout modules to stores using layouts and assortments. You can assign layouts to the assortments in a store. Each layout consists of one or more layout modules. Using the layout area, you map the spatial assignment of a layout module in the layout. SAP F&R saves the data at product-location-layout module level. The assignments are time-dependent.

  • You can use the Business Add-In (/FRE/IF_CON_BADI_020) to enrich and change the imported layout module data. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Forecasting and Replenishment under Start of the navigation path Interfaces Next navigation step Enhancements Using Business Add-Ins Next navigation step BAdI: Layout Module Data Enrichment End of the navigation path.

Prerequisites

  • If you use a product in a layout module more than once, you must add up and transfer the stock-related control parameters in the sending system. If a product is placed in several layout modules, the parameters are rolled up within SAP F&R.

  • From within an SAP Retail system, you can only transport released layout modules for planning-relevant and placed products to SAP F&R. If a product is placed in several layout modules, the parameters are rolled up within SAP F&R.

  • You use the base unit of measure in the sending system for stock-related control parameters.

Features

You can import the following information to SAP F&R:

  • Product

  • Location

  • Layout module

  • Layout module version

  • Validity start and finish

  • Minimum stock

  • Maximum stock

  • Target stock

    Note Note

SAP F&R aggregates the minimum stock, maximum stock, and target stock at the location/product/validity period level. The system takes these aggregated quantities into account when calculating the order quantity (of a location product) during the FRP run.

    End of the note.

Inbound processing in SAP F&R supports the creation, modification, and deletion of objects. In addition, you can use the following functions within inbound processing for layout modules:

  • Deletion of all layout modules with an assignment to a location

  • Deletion of all assignments to a layout module. This applies to all versions of the layout module in question.

  • Deletion of all assignments to a layout module and a version. The system deletes the specified version of the layout module concerned.

  • Deletion of all assignments to a product. This applies for all assignments to a product over all locations.

Aside from this, SAP F&R does not have a user interface for maintaining layout modules.

Activities

  1. The integrated sending system starts the transfer and calls appropriate function module for the interface in SAP F&R. For more information, see the Overview of the Interfaces in SAP F&R.

  2. You then post the data in SAP F&R.
