If you wish to use SAP Forecasting and Replenishment (SAP F&R), you must ensure that at least the following master data exists:

  • Product

  • Location product

  • Location

  • Supply network

  • Calendar

  • Procurement cycle (profile)

  • SAP F&R also lets you define certain master data time-dependent: in this case, you specify a validity period for the master data in question. If you want a parameter to be time-dependent, you must set this in Customizing. Note that the ability to use time-dependent attributes function is limited to a predefined set of modifiable fields.

    Example: You can use a different procurement frequency for confectionery products over the holiday period, which contains additional order days and delivery days.

  • To edit time-dependent parameters in mass maintenance, you have to define them as modifiable. You can define time-dependent and modifiable parameters independently of one another.

Constraints

There are no interfaces for the following F&R master data:

  • Certain profiles, such as the restriction profile

  • Calendars

    You can transfer factory calendars as part of a Customizing transport. From these calendars, you can generate F&R-specific calendars (time stream IDs).

    Recommendation Recommendation

    We recommend that you import the rest of the master data and that you use the interfaces with the inbound process mode Using Interface Tables. In this mode, the system posts the data in the correct sequence (for example, location and product master data before supply network).
