Function documentationProcessing of Order Proposals in Product Substitution

In Order Proposal Management you can create new order proposal items for location products that appear in SAP F&R in a substitution assignment and in switchover information. This does not apply to cases where the location product contains a lock due to product substitution (see "Integration").

Integration

  • The system checks as part of the standard checks if it may transfer the location product to the order proposal, including:

    • Is the product in order proposal item to be created actually listed? (The system only allows manual planning for listed products.)

    • Is (manual) planning intended for this location product in SAP F&R?

  • For location products that are part of a substitution assignment with follow-up relationship (and are not part of a switchover information), the system checks if a lock due to product substitution exists in the location product master data, and it ensures the following:

    • Do not plan follow-up product yet (lock is set)

    • Continue to plan original product (no lock)

  • For location products that are part of a switchover information with follow-up relationship, the system checks if a lock due to product substitution exists in the location product master data, and it ensures the following:

    • Plan the follow-up product (no lock)

    • Stop planning the original product (lock is set)

Features

Creating New Order Proposal Items

Depending on whether the entered product is part of a product substitution with follow-up relationship or replacement relationship, you include the following in the order proposal item:

  • for follow-up relationships, the location product that does not contain a lock due to product substitution (either the follow-up or the original product)

  • for replacement relationships, either the replacement or the original product

You can use the following functions:

  • The system checks for a location product, which has passed the standard check for a transfer into the order proposal, if it is part of a substitution assignment and if switchover or switch back information exists for it.

  • If you select a location product with lock due to product substitution, the system displays in a dialog box that part of the follow-up relationship that is not locked (see "Integration"). You can decide whether to plan the location product that is not locked or not to create an order proposal item at all.

  • The system displays the following information for location products that appear in an active switchover information either as an original or substitution product:

    • In the detail display of the order proposal item the system flags if the selected location product is contained in a switchover information and if the switchover is to a follow-up product or to a replacement product.

You can open a display of the active switchover and switch back information, however, you cannot display a history of the switchover information.

    • In the detail display of the order proposal item and in the calculation details, the system displays the merged stock data of the selected location product at the time of the last FRP run.

    • In the time series screen, you can display for the location product, the actual consumption data and the merged consumption data at the time of the last FRP run, with one key figure in each case in a tabular and graphical illustration.

If the location product is a follow-up product, you can also display the consumption data for a reference (if one exists) and for the follow-up product.

  • Stock Projection

For the calculation of the stock projection and range of coverage data of the substitution product, the system takes into account its currently existing stock data and actual consumption data and also the related open order proposals.

  • Display of the orderable products

The system does not show any location products as orderable if they are locked due to product substitution.

Processing Changeable Order Proposal Items
  • When changing an existing order proposal item (for example, quantity or date changes) the system also carries out the standard check for a transfer into the order proposal. It also checks if the entered product is part of a substitution assignment and if switchover or switch back information exists for it.

  • If the original product contained in the order proposal item has been locked in the meantime due to product substitution (follow-up relationship), you can choose to order the follow-up product (transfer the follow-up product into the order proposal) instead of the original product. If this is the case, the system replaces the item that exists for the original product with the new item with the follow-up product.

    Note Note

When an order proposal is released, the system does not check whether substitution assignments and active switchover information exist for the location products from the order proposal items.

    End of the note.
