 Call Pegging Tab Page

Prerequisites

You are in the change mode of the order processing view .

Procedure

  1. To display the existing pegging relationships for the order, double-click on the order tree.

    • Under Receipts on an output product of the order, or

    • Under Requirements on an input product of the order

  2. Choose the Pegging tab page.

    • If you double-clicked on Receipts in step 1, you will see the pegging relationships for an output product of the order ; that is, the requirements elements consumed by the output product of the order. For each requirements element, the quantity of the output product with dynamic assignment to the requirements element is shown in the Dynamic Pegging Quantity column.

    • If you double-clicked on Requirements in step 1, you will see the pegging relationships for an input product of the order ; that is, the stock or receipt elements that deliver this input product. For each stock or receipt element, the quantity with dynamic assignment to the order requirement is shown in the Dynamic Pegging Quantity column.

If you choose Pegging Alternatives , you will see a list of all possible requirements or stock and receipt elements that could consume the order product or deliver the component.

  3. In the Fixed Pegging Quantity column, enter the quantity of the output product that you wish to assign to the requirements element, or enter the quantity of the input product that a stock or receipt element should deliver to the order.

The fixed pegging quantity can be different from the quantity that a receipt element can actually deliver. The system determines the actual pegging quantity automatically.

  4. Select the element and choose Fix Quantity .

Result

You have created a fixed assignment of a specific pegging quantity to an element. If you have only created a fixed assignment for a part of the output or input product, the remainder is not assigned, or is dynamically assigned to other elements.

If you change the fixed pegging quantity, or want to remove the fixed assignment completely, you delete the fixed pegging relationship. To do so, select the element and choose Delete Fixing Completely . Specify another fixed pegging quantity, if required.

Example

A receipt element with a receipt quantity of ten pieces has dynamic assignment to a requirements element of ten pieces. You can fix six pieces and thus create a fixed assignment to the requirements element. The remaining four pieces are then still dynamically assigned to the requirements element; the system can change this assignment when the planning situation changes.
