Object documentationProduct Storage Definition

A master data element in SAP SCM, product storage definition defines storage options and thus the modeling of enhanced product flow. It supports both sources of supply types, namely, production process model (PPM) and production data structure (PDS). This master data can be integrated with the product flow data from SAP ERP; for more information, see Implementing Product Flow for PDS and PPM. You can set priorities for storage resource alternatives.

Structure

When a PPM or PDS is created in SAP APO, either manually or using CIF, a default header entry is automatically created in the product storage definition. You use this header to maintain the details.

Integration

After you have defined product flow in the recipe in SAP ERP, you use a BAdI to automatically integrate this data with the product storage definition in SAP APO when generating the PDS or PPM. Note that this integration works only in the direction from SAP ERP to SAP APO.

Access the BAdI for integration of product flow for PDS in Customizing, at Start of the navigation path Integration with SAP Components Next navigation step Integration via APO Core Interface (CIF) Next navigation step Application-Specific Settings and Enhancements Next navigation step Settings and Enhancements for Production Data Structures (PDS) Next navigation step Inbound Processing of Production Data Structure Next navigation step BAdI: Enhancement for Creation of PP/DS Production Data Structure End of the navigation path.

Access the BAdI for integration of product flow for PPM using the SE18 transaction. Within enhancement spot /SAPAPO/ENH_PPM_INBOUND, choose method CREATE_STORAGE_DEF.
