Product Cost Controlling for Discrete Industries This component comprises the functions of Product Cost Planning and Cost Object Controlling that are available in the Industry Business Solution
Discrete Industries
.
The main functional difference of this component compared with product cost controlling in the SAP standard system is that manufacturing is based on the
Advanced Planner and Optimizer
(APO) and
Integrated Product and Process Engineering
(iPPE). In contrast to product cost planning in the SAP standard system, no BOMs and routings are costed in this scenario. Instead, only iPPE master data (such as variants and modes) is costed. In Cost Object Controlling, costs are analyzed using quantity-based product cost collectors. Quantity-based valuation is an approach that is only used in the Industry Business Solution
Discrete Industries
. With this approach, the product cost collector is debited and credited with postings from APO through an interface.
You are using the
Advanced Planner and Optimizer
(APO) with iPPE. For more information on integration, refer to the SAP Library for the individual functions.
The following sections describe applications whose scopes of functions differ from those of the same programs in the SAP standard system:
