You use this function to reduce the volume of data and minimize processing. The time series profile combines different time series types and assigns them to the locations.
You can do the following:
Manage the time series types within a time series profile:
Primary Granularity
This determines time period granularity that is assigned to an individual time series value (for example, day). If you use a day, it means a high degree of precision and a large volume of data and is suitable only for short periods of time.
Secondary Granularity
This determines a period of time that must be longer than the primary granularity (for example, if you use day as the primary granularity, you could enter week here). The secondary granularity is an optional function. This is suitable for longer periods of time.
Unit of Measure
This specifies the base unit of measure for the time series values of this type. It serves as the dimension in which the values will be displayed. If you leave this empty, the values will be displayed without a dimension.
Time Series Level
This indicates whether SAP F&R should store the time series values of this type for a location or a location product. This is usually a location product, but could be location if there are values in a generic DIF time series that are valid for the entire location (such as temperature).
The input value for the BASIS TS_TYPE
field is assigned automatically by Time Series Management. You cannot make your own settings here.
Assign a time series profile one or more locations.
Assign a time series profile to several locations.
SAP F&R provides three standard profiles, one for stores, one for distribution centers, and one for reference modules. You can define your own time series profiles and mark them as being the default profiles rather than using the SAP standard profiles.
Caution
Only experienced only should create their own time series profiles since these are sensitive settings for program execution. You should not modify the standard profiles that SAP F&R provides, but instead create your own profiles, if necessary.
To assign a time series profile to a location, on the SAP Easy Access screen choose:
To make your settings, choose the tab page for SAP F&R.
