In the rules-based ATP check in SAP APO, the system can select a storage location MRP area in which the desired product is available. A typical scenario would be that sales orders should be supplied from the nearest distribution center or store for spare parts. To be able to check all MRP areas, you need to have created the relevant rules for location substitution in SAP APO. If the ATP check selects a storage location MRP area, the system creates a corresponding subitem in the sales order and enters the storage location MRP area and the leading storage location for this storage location MRP area in the sales order.

You cannot perform a two-level check of storage location MRP area and of storage locations in the sales order. If the scope of check for deliveries contains sales orders, you cannot use the storage location check for deliveries either. If the scope of check for the delivery does not contain any sales orders, you can use the storage location check in the delivery.
