The
Alert Monitor
can display alerts for violated shelf life conditions. The alerts allow the shelf life conditions to be monitored.
In the
PP/DS alert profile
you define which alerts the system displays in the
Alert Monitor
.
Alerts for fixed pegging relationships
You can create fixed pegging relationships between requirements elements and stock or receipt elements. The system can create the alerts for violated shelf life conditions, which are grouped together in the following table.
Alert |
Description |
Maturation time not completed (requirement) |
The system creates this alert for a requirement, if a receipt, whose maturation time only ends after the requirements date, is assigned to the requirement. |
Maturation time not completed (receipt) |
The system creates this alert for a receipt, if the receipt is assigned to a requirement whose requirements date is before the end of the maturation time. |
Shelf life too short (requirement) |
The system creates this alert for a requirement if a receipt, whose shelf life expires before the required minimum shelf life of the requirement, is assigned to the requirement. |
Shelf life too short (receipt) |
The system creates this alert for a receipt, if a requirement, whose required minimum shelf life is after the shelf life of the receipt, is assigned to the receipt. |
Shelf life too long (requirement) |
The system creates this alert for a requirement if a receipt, whose shelf life expires after the required maximum shelf life of the requirement, is assigned to the requirement. |
Shelf life too long (receipt) |
The system creates this alert for a receipt, if a requirement, whose required maximum shelf life expires before the shelf life of the receipt, is assigned to the receipt. |
Note
Since dynamic pegging considers shelf life conditions, no date/time alerts for violated shelf life conditions can arise in dynamic pegging.
Alerts for surpluses with limited shelf life
The system can create the alert
Unpegged receipt with shelf life expiration date
when the shelf life expires within a specific time period, for receipts with limited shelf life that are not assigned or only partially assigned to a requirement. Depending on how large the remaining shelf life of a receipt is, the system can issue the alert as information, warning or error. You can specify up to three threshold values in hours in the PP/DS alert profile. The system creates the relevant alert when the remaining shelf life falls below these thresholds.
A product has a shelf life of 30 days. In the PP/DS alert profile you specified the following threshold values for the remaining shelf life:
Alert type |
Threshold value |
Information |
480 hours (= 20 days) |
Warning |
240 hours (= 10 days) |
Error |
120 hours (= 5 days) |
Therefore when the remaining shelf life of a receipt falls below 480 hours, the system creates an information alert; when it falls below 240 hours it creates a warning alert; for 120 hours, an error alert.
On 01.07.2002 you call up the product view for the product. For this date, the product view displays several receipts that create surpluses. The following table shows the receipt data, the remaining shelf life and the type of alert that the system creates for a receipt.

When the product view is called, the remaining shelf life for receipt 1 is 2 days. This value falls short of the threshold value for an error alert of 5 days; the system therefore creates an error alert for this receipt with surplus.
