 Managing Protection DomainsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Protection domains enable you to manage system resources. This enables you to make access control decisions. You can add new categories of permissions that are supported by the AS Java.

Procedure
  1. Open <Security Provider service Runtime → Protection Domains.>
  2. Choose the <Switch to edit mode> button from the upper left-hand part of the screen.
  3. Select the protection domain you want to manage from Protection Domains.

You can see the available permissions for the current protection domain in the middle panel <Granted Permissions>.

If You Want To Then

Add a new permission to a protection domain

  1. Choose <New>.
  2. Specify the class name, the target name and the action name of the permission.
  3. Choose OK.

Grant a new permission to a protection domain

  1. Select the protection domain you want to manage from the Protection Domains list.
  2. Select the permission you want to grant to the protection domain from the <Available Permissions> list, and choose <Grant>.

Clear permission from a protection domain

  1. Select the protection domain to remove the permission from.
  2. Select the permission you want to remove from <Granted Permissions>, and choose <Clear>.

Remove a permission

Select the permission you want to remove from <Available Permissions>, and choose <Remove>.
