To use forecasting in service parts planning, you have made the following settings:

Settings for System Installation

You have set up the Business Intelligence system for SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM).

Settings in Customizing
  • You have carried out the IMG activity Define Forecast Periodicity in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization under Start of the navigation path Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Basic Settings End of the navigation path .

    Note Note

    Note that you must define the minimum number of working days for the chosen periodicity in the service profile for forecasting under General Data in the FcstRelWorkDays field. The value specified here is decisive for whether the system uses the demand history of the current period for the forecast.

  • You have executed the following IMG activities in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization , under Start of the navigation path Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Forecasting End of the navigation path :

    • Define Forecast Service Profile

    • Define Profile for Automatic Model Selection

    • Initialize Base Values

    • Define Smoothing Factor Record

    • Define Seasonal Coefficients

Master Data
  • In addition to the general master data, such as product and location master data, you have also defined the SPP-specific master data on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Application-Specific Master Data Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) End of the navigation path .

  • You have marked the location products, for which you want to perform forecasting, as planning-relevant. You have done this by setting the replenishment indicator in the location product master data on the SPP tab page to Stocked .

Settings in the Menu

You have defined a forecast profile from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Forecasting Next navigation step Forecast Profile End of the navigation path . Planning Service Manager

You have set up a planning profile for forecasting in the Planning Service Manager (PSM). In the PSM service list of the planning profile, you have scheduled the planning services that you want for forecasting and assigned a service profile to each of them.
