Developing a Composite Application

In the IT process Developing a Composite Application, you create and link services, business logic, and Web Dynpro components.

Use of the Process

This IT process is part of the following IT scenario:

Prerequisites

You have created the process flow and the data model of the composite application. In addition, you have identified the missing elements that need to be implemented.

Process Flow

The following IT process runs in the usage type DI:

1. Import external services

   You import external services (Web service, remote function call) into the business process service. This enables you to reuse data from back-end systems and from third parties as well.

2. Generate entity services

   You create entity services, which build the domain model of a composite application.

3. Implement business logic

   You create application services that implement the business logic of a composite.

4. Develop WD components (GP interface)

   You develop custom user interfaces as Web Dynpro components. To be able to use them in Guided Procedures, you implement the API that GP provides.

Result

You have developed services for the business logic and can now configure these in the next process step.
