  Assigning a Material/Product with the Application Tree

Use

You can use the application tree to quickly assign all the components from a product structure to activities in a process structure. Unlike the application list, there is no possibility for checking with this function. This means that you cannot see whether certain component variants have already been assigned.

Procedure

  1. Load the process structure in the navigation area.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path View Next navigation step Application Trees Next navigation step Product Structure Application Tree End of the navigation path .

    The fields for selecting the structures are displayed on the detail screen.

  3. Choose Load .

    The Load Objects dialog box appears .

  4. Enter the dates for the access node or structure node to which the product structure nodes are assigned.

    The selected node is loaded on the detail screen.

  5. Expand the structures below the node.

    The subordinate nodes and component variants are displayed.

  6. Click the node or the component variant that you wish to assign. Drag the object using drag and drop to the activity in which this material/product is to be installed.

    The system issues the following message in the footer:

    Material assignment between “component XY” and “activity XX” will be created when you save.

  7. Repeat step 6 until you have assigned all the nodes or component variants.

  8. Save the assignments.
