Procedure

Prerequisites

The Retention Warehouse user interface requires SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.00 or higher.

Setting up Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) in SAP NetWeaver Portal

  1. Include the ILM content in SAP NetWeaver Portal (see Business Package for Retention Warehouse Administration 1.40).

  2. Assign the ILM system as the back-end system to the SAP_ILM system alias.

Configuring the ILM System

  1. If you use SAP NetWeaver BI in a different system, create an RFC destination connecting this system (transaction SM59).

  2. Activate business function Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) (transaction SFW5).

Customizing in the ILM System

Define the general control parameters for extractions to SAP NetWeaver BI in Customizing for Information Lifecycle Management under   Retention Warehouse   Generic Settings   Configure BI Extraction  .

The other steps in Customizing for Retention Warehouse are optional.

Configuring Users

  1. In the ILM system, assign the ILM Work Package Administrator role (SAP_ILM_WP_ADMIN) to the users (transaction PFCG).

  2. In SAP NetWeaver Portal, assign the ILM_ROLE role to the users.
