Alert Overview 

Use

Alerts are the central element of the CCMS Monitoring Infrastructure. The SAP Solution Manager distinguishes between technical alerts, which are assigned to software and hardware, and business process alerts, which are assigned to processes and their steps.

The alert overview is a tabular display of:

●      all alerts of one or more active solutions

●      technical alerts for one active solution

●      Business Process Monitoring Alerts for one active solution

Prerequisites

You have:

●      specified a solution

●      assigned alerts from System Monitoring or Business Process Monitoring to this solution

Structure

Rating	Rating of alert in CCMS
Alert description	Name of alert in CCMS; Go to analysis transaction
Measured value	Measured value in CCMS
Solution description	Appears if you display alerts for several solutions
Monitored object; Previous object; Object before last	Object identification; the objects to which the alert is assigned, and its higher level objects; e.g. Alert ® Business Process Step ® Business Process
Documentation	Symbol Information; CCMS alert documentation
Status	Production: At least one higher-level object of the alert is productive Planned: No higher-level object is productive, but at least one higher-level object is planned No Value: No status is set for any of the higher-level objects

 

 

The alert overview is displayed in ALV grid format. You have access to all the functions, such as Filter, Sort or Search.

 

Procedures

...

●      Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.

Call alert overview

○       From the solution overview, if you want to show alerts for more than one solution

                                                  i.       Choose the solution overview.

                                                ii.       Choose Goto ® Alert Overview.

A dialog box appears.

                                               iii.       Select solutions.

                                               iv.       Confirm your entries.

 

○       From the solution, if you want to show all the alerts for a solution

...

●        Choose Goto ® Alert Overview.

 

○       From the graphical overview in the Solution Monitoring area, if you only want to show the alerts for one monitoring type

...

                                                  i.       Choose the Solution Monitoring tab, in the Operations area.

                                                ii.       Choose the monitoring type, either system monitoring or business process monitoring.

You go to the graphical display.

                                               iii.       Choose Alert Overview.

The alert overview appears.

 

Activities in the alert overview

You can:

○       switch between the display of current and open alerts.

○       reset current alerts for a selected period, i.e exclude from the display.

○       display the history of individual alerts in the Open Alerts session.

○       confirm alerts in the alert history or in the Open Alerts view.

○       select the automatic alert overview refresh interval.

○       refresh the alert overview manually.

○       start alert analysis methods with the link for the alert description.

○       display documentation with Information for the alert.
