Filling the MDX Cache 

Use

The Fill MDX Cache distribution type allows you to precalculate BEx queries in the background, which can then be used as data providers for Crystal Reports. This function is a device used to improve system performance when executing Crystal Reports.

Prerequisites

You have selected the Fill MDX Cache distribution type. The output format is MDX Result Set.

You make settings for filling the MDX cache on the following tab pages:

User/Language

On the User/Language tab page you can specify, for the background processing of the broadcast setting, which language, authorizations, and user-specific settings are to be used to generate the scheduled document.

You make the settings for the variable assignment here.

This tab page only appears when the query contains variables.

Filter Navigation

On the Filter Navigation tab page, you can specify characteristics or a control query so that the system precalculates multiple documents with different filter settings from the same query.
