 Conversion from SAP APO with Forced BOM Explosion

Use

You can force a BOM explosion on conversion of a planned order into a manufacturing order. In this way you can ensure that the currently valid BOM is always used for production.

Prerequisites

This function is only available with the enhancement PPAPO004 ( Planned Order Conversion from APO: New BOM Explosion?) with the Customer Exit EXIT_SAPLCOXT_001.

Activities

SAP R/3 carries out the following steps automatically:

  1. Creation of the manufacturing order using the data of the APO planned order

    This means that the BOM and the routing are re-exploded in accordance with the production version.

  2. Merging of APO and R/3 Data

    Caution Caution

    In SAP R/3 no merge with the reservations and items of the APO planned orders takes place: instead the system always calls up the current BOM information from SAP R/3. However, operation data (dates and work centers) is copied to the R/3 order from SAP APO.

    End of the caution.

  3. Saving of the manufacturing order

  4. Deletion of the R/3 planned order

  5. Return of the R/3 Order Number to SAP APO
