SAP delivers the Web services that are needed to use the Status and Tracking System in an inactive state. The reason for this is that in an unprotected system and network infrastructure, third parties could gain unauthorized access to your system through the internet. Before starting up the Status and Tracking System it is therefore necessary to activate the relevant Web services.
The URL of the Status and Tracking System, which is sent in a start e-mail, opens the Status and Tracking System. By default this is opened in the log-on language of the administrator that sent the start e-mail. You can modify the relevant service so that the user can select a log-on language that is not the same as the administrator language. You can also change the initial passwords for the first log-on by modifying the services.
Make sure that your company’s system and network infrastructure is adequately protected to prevent unauthorized access to your system. This includes measures such as firewalls, supporting secure protocols (HTTPS), secure passwords for logon to network and to the system, and restrictive authorization profile.
Activate the Web services used by the Status and Tracking System. Proceed as follows:
...
1. In the SAP menu, choose Tools → System Administration → Administration → Network → HTTP Service Hierarchy Maintenance (Transaction SICF). The Maintain Service screen appears.
2. Choose Find.
3. Enter tunguska as the search term and confirm. The system expands the HTTP service tree and displays the entry Status and Tracking System.
4. In the context menu of the entry, choose Activate Service and confirm the subsequent system message.
5. Repeat this step for the service tunguska_detail (Detail Screen: Status and Tracking System).
You are able to modify the Web services used by the Status and Tracking System. Proceed as follows:
...
1. Call the dialog box for changing the required service by double-clicking on the service.
2. Choose Change.
3. Make the desired changes on the relevant tab pages. Take note of the following:
Tab Page: Service Data
If, instead of the standard selection, you select SSL (Secure Socket Layer) under Security Requirements, the SSL service has to be active on the Web Application Server.
Tab Page: Error Pages → Tab Page: Error Pages
If, instead of the standard Explicit Answer Page selection you select the Redirect to URL option, the Single Sign On Service (SSO) has to be activated on the Web Application Server.
If you have chosen Redirect to URL, the following URL is displayed by default as changeable in the input field under the Redirect radio button:
/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/login.htm?sap-url=<%=PATHTRANS%>&BspLanguage=EN&BspLanguageVisible=X&BspChangePasswordVisible=X&BspClient=000&BspClientVisible=X&BSPAccessibilityVisible=X
The following table explains the components of the URL and the additional parameters in detail:
URL Component |
What You Need to Know |
/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/ |
URL for redirect. This part should remain unchanged. |
&BspLanguage=EN |
By default, English is used as the log-on language. (However this is not displayed). |
&BspLanguageVisible=X |
An additional box is displayed when you log-on that allows you to select the language. This, together with the &BspLanguage=EN option, means that English is predefined and another language can be chosen using the selection box. |
&BspChangePasswordVisible=X |
A switch is also displayed that allows users to log-on and change their passwords. |
&BspClient=000 |
Client 000 is used by default. (However this is not displayed). |
&BspClientVisible=X |
An input field for the client is also displayed. This, together with the &BspClient=000 option, means that client 000 is the preselection in this field. |
&BSPAccessibilityVisible=X |
|
As the administrator, you can configure the system according to your own guidelines by using the parameters.
