Example of Archiving Data from Non-Cumulative InfoCubes 

The following example shows how you archive non-cumulative changes as time slots, how you reload data into a copy of the original InfoCube from which the data came, and how you prepare all the data so that it can be used in reports using a MultiProvider. You have to maintain the validity area (marked in blue) manually. You use transaction RSDV to do this.

This is the situation before archiving: The InfoCube is filled with data on in-comings and out-goings.

The next graphic shows the archiving run for the second time slot (July to December 1999.)

The next step is to load the data from the second time slot (July to December 1999) into the copy of the InfoCube.

The next step is to load the data from the first time slot (January to June 1999) into the copy of the InfoCube.

When you run reports using the MultiProvider, all the data, including the archived data, is available.
