Previous Concept for Reporting Authorizations 

Reporting authorizations control for which data a user has display authorization in a query.

Previous to SAP NetWeaver 7.0, this was achieved using SAP's standard authorization concept. In the Reporting authorization class, no authorization objects are delivered. You have to create them yourself. The following description outlines how you can use this concept.

You can still use this authorization concept, but SAP recommends that you change to the new concept as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 because it better suits the requirements of BI.

If you want to continue using the previous concept for reporting authorizations, you must note the following:

By default, the new concept is active. You can change this setting in Customizing by choosing SAP Customizing Implementation Guide →SAP NetWeaver →Business Intelligence →Settings for Reporting and Analysis → General Settings for Reporting and Analysis → Analysis Authorizations: Select Concept.

The Customizing setting under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver → Business Intelligence → General BI Settings → Authorization Settings is now obsolete. As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0, the authorizations for MultiProviders are always checked by authorization object S_RS_MPRO, regardless of the setting in Customizing. You must therefore ensure that users have authorization for authorization object S_RS_MPRO where applicable.
