Use

You can create and edit documents in the planning workbench so that they can be accessed in the planning layout.

Prerequisites

At least one characteristic has to be contained in the planning level that is identified as “characteristic is document property” (see Documents).

Procedure

...

       1.      Select the required planning package.

       2.      Choose Create Documents from the context menu of the planning package.

The system generates the Documents entry in the navigation area.

       3.      Choose Call from the context menu of the Documents entry.

The system shows a detail screen that is divided in two:

¡        List of the documents available for the characteristic value selection of the planning area.

¡        Editing area for a document.

       4.      Choose Create from the context menu of the document list.

The Create/Import Document dialog box appears. Enter the title and type of the document.

The following document types are supported:

¡        Microsoft Excel

¡        Microsoft PowerPoint

¡        Microsoft Word

¡        Text document

       5.      The system displays all the characteristics in the current planning level that have documents that can be assigned. Enter one or more values for those characteristics to which you want to assign the document.

Note

The system preassigns all characteristics for which the planning package contains a unique selection with the allowed value. You must enter characteristics for which several values are allowed appropriately.

       6.      Decide whether you want to assign a key figure to the document in addition to the characteristic values.

       7.      Confirm your entries.

The system creates a document and adds an appropriate entry to the document list. The document is loaded into the assigned editor in the editing area.

Result

The newly created document is available for display in planning layouts, provided that displaying documents is activated in the layout.
