Use

In the update rule maintenance, you can use automatic time conversion to update InfoSource source time characteristics into target time characteristics in the data target. This function does not apply to ODS objects, since time characteristics are treated like normal data fields.

Prerequisites

In the update rule maintenance, you have already determined rules for the corresponding key figure and associated characteristic. You are now in the Time Reference tabpage for InfoCubes, and in the Key Fields tab page for ODS objects.

Functions

The system only makes those time characteristics available, for which an automatic time conversion routine exists.

Example

For the target time characteristic Calendar Month, the source time characteristic Calendar Day is made available. This means that a time conversion routine exists, that converts the source time characteristic Calendar Day into the target time characteristic Calendar Month.
