If master data is maintained for a master data-bearing characteristic, you can modify this master data and create additional master data records.
...
1. Navigate to master data maintenance by choosing
InfoObject Tree → InfoObject → Context Menu (secondary mouse button) → Maintain Master Data.
or from InfoObject maintenance by choosing Maintain Master Data
A selection screen appears for restricting the master data you want to edit.
2. Using the options from the F4 Help, select the relevant data.
The list overview of the selection appears. The list overview is also displayed if no hits were found for your selection, so that you can enter new master records for particular criteria.
3. Make your changes with the help of the relevant maintenance function.
Creating new master records
Choose Create to add new master records. New records are added to the end of the list.
Changing single records
Double-clicking a data record takes you to the individual maintenance. Make the relevant changes in the subsequent change dialog box.
Mass changes
Select multiple records, and choose Change. A change dialog box appears in which the attributes and texts are offered. Enter the relevant entries, which are then transferred to all the selected records.
4. Choose Save.
If a newly created record already exists in the database but does not appear in the processing list (because you have not selected it on the selection screen), there is no check. Instead, the old records are overwritten.
If you change master data in the BI system, you must adjust the respective source system accordingly. Otherwise the changes will be overwritten in the BI system the next time data is uploaded.
Master data that you have created in the BI system is retained even after you have uploaded data from the source system.
Note the exception for time-dependent master data.
