Change the Source of Supply You can change the source of supply for an order in the product view. If you change the source of supply for an order, the system deletes the order in the following cases and then creates a new order, which has a new order number, with the desired source of supply:
You substitute a source of supply for
external procurement
with a source of supply for
in-house production
, or vice versa.
You substitute an external procurement source of supply with an external procurement source of supply with a different procurement type; for example, you substitute normal external procurement with
subcontracting
.
In the case of external procurement, you substitute the source location of the type
supplier
with a source location of the type
production plant
, or vice versa.
You change the production location for an in-house production order. This case is relevant for production in another location . You can only change the production location of an in-house production order if a source of supply exists for the combination of planning location and new production location.
In all other cases the original order is retained with its original order number.
If the in-house production source of supply (PPM, iPPE access object, PP/DS runtime object) is switched, the system reexplodes an in-house production order, provided the status of the order permits this. For example, if in the case of an in-house production order you change the production process model (PPM) from PPM1 to PPM2, the system reexplodes the in-house production order using the plan for PPM2.
Note
For a reexplosion, the order may not have any of the following statuses:
Input firmed
Date firmed
Released
Started
Partially confirmed
Finally confirmed
