Viewing Documents
The Viewing Documents process contains steps that are performed by the portal users.
Documents that are stored in the portal can be called up in various different ways:
● Using the navigation
● Using the search
● Using links in notifications
To display the content of a document, you can open it in the application that it was created in or open an HTML version of the document in the browser. The metadata and properties of a document are displayed in its Details dialog box.

Steps one through three do not have to be completed in the specified order. Their chronological order is not fixed.

1. Search and find document and view HTML or native format.
In the portal, users can use the search function. The search results display the documents that match the search query. To view the content of the documents, users can display the document in the related application or call up an HTML version that appears in the browser.
2. Browse for document and view HTML or native format.
Users can navigate through the folder hierarchy to documents. In this case as well, users can display the document in the related application or call up an HTML version that appears in the browser.
3. Subscription notification.
Users receive notification of changes to documents or folders in their inbox or universal worklist, if they have subscribed to the objects. The users can call up the object using a link in the notification.
4. View document details.
In the Details dialog box for a document, users can display its metadata and execute functions.
