You can personalize either individual variables or all variables in a Web application. By doing this, you permanently assign a value to the variables that remains valid until you remove the personalization again. With personalization, you do not have to make repeated manual settings – your personal settings - for a variable.
You are in the variables screen in a web application that underlies a query as a data provider with variables. To enable personalization of the variables, click on Show Personalization of Variableson the right side of the Variables screen. In the upper part of the variables screen, the area for the personalized variables now appears.
...
1. Under General Variables ,assign a value to the variable that you want to personalize and select this variable (see Working with the Variable Screen).
2. Click on (Add Selected Variable to the List of Personalized Variables) or (Add All Variables to the List of Personalized Variables). In this step, you have already personalized the variable. The variable value that you have personalized is now displayed in the list of personalized variables (Personalized Values screen area).
3. To execute the personalized variable values, choose OK. The query is now displayed with the personalized values.
To hide the personalized variables again, choose Hide Personalization of Variables. Only those variables that are not personalized are now displayed.
The ability to hide personalized variables is in line with the concept of personalization: Personalized variables have a fixed defined value. Your attention is directed to the free variables that have not been personalized.
However, you have the option of displaying your personalized variables again in the General Variables screen area. To do this, select the Personalized Variables field. This allows you to see the personalized variables with the general variables even if the screen area for the personalized variables is hidden.
If you change or overwrite a personalized variable value in the Personalized Values screen area and you want this change to be permanent and visible in the Web Application, choose Personalize Changed Values.
If you have changed a personalized variable value in the Personalized Values screen area, but you want to apply and display the original variable value, choose Retrieve Personalization.
...
1. On the variables screen, delete the personalized variable that you want to delete.
2. Click on (Remove Selected Variable from the List of Personalized Variables) or (Remove All Variables from the List of Personalized Variables).
...
If you want to set another value as the personalized value on the variable screen, overwrite the relevant value. You can overwrite the value without deleting the personalization. For more information, see SAP Note 1109331 under service.sap.com/notes.
