Use

Local locks (Lock Cells function) always apply for the area you have selected to be locked. Cells with “back-end locks“ (see below) or cells from outside the SAP data area are exceptions to this. The Unlock Cells function works in the same way.

Note

Within the SAP data area, cells are either totals or basic key figures. In the layout definition, you are able to define data columns or self-defined rows that cannot be changed manually. Data slices or characteristic relationships may also mean that cells are not be ready for input. These locks are normally due to user-independent settings.  These “back-end locks” cannot be removed with the local Unlock Cells function.
