Example of Process for Rules-Based ATP Check

In this example, a product substitution is to be carried out based on defined rules if the requirements quantity of 1000 pieces (pc) for the requested product P1 cannot be confirmed in full.

The product substitution procedure of the rule defines that product P2 is to be checked after product P1 is checked.

The sales order is entered in the ERP system.

Prerequisites

  • You have defined the determination of the requirements class in the ERP system. The requirements class with requirements type and checking group are selected so that rules-based ATP can be carried out in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO).

  • In the ERP system a business transactionhas been created and stored in the order type of the sales order. This ensures that the rule strategy can be found in SAP APO.
