Developing a Portal Application Using PDK for .NET 

Purpose

In this IT process, you design and develop a portal application in Microsoft Visual Studio with the help of PDK for .NET.

Use of the Process

Process Flow

This IT process runs in an external usage type (Microsoft Visual Studio). In this process, you perform the following steps:

       1.      Design a portal application

Design the flow and the UI of your application. Determine which back-end data sources are required for your application.

       2.      Discover enterprise services

Discover the enterprise services that provide the required back-end data sources, and integrate them into your application.

This is an optional step, which is performed according to the application requirements.

       3.      Create portal components

Use SAP NetWeaver .NET controls to create UI of the portal components, and write code to implement the required functionality.

Result

You have created the components that make up your application. You can now continue to configure your application in the process Configuring a Portal Application Using PDK for .NET.
