Procedure documentation Personalizing Variables  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You have the option of personalizing variables. You can personalize single variables and all variables in a query executed in the BEx Analyzer. By personalizing the variables, you assign values to them that are used until you reset the personalization. Personalization means that you do not have to repeatedly manually configure your personal variable settings.

Prerequisites

You have executed a query with variables in the BEx Analyzer and now want to personalize one or all of the variables in the query.

Procedure

...

       1.      Insert a query for which variables are saved, into a workbook.

       2.      Open the dialog box for selecting variable values. You have the following options:

CIf you open a query or a workbook, the Change Variable Values dialog box is displayed automatically.

If you have already executed a query in a workbook, choose Change Variable Values in the analysis toolbar or BEx Analyzer Analysis Toolbar Change Variable Values.

       3.      Select values for the variables that are saved in the query.

For more information, see Changing Variable Values.

       4.      If you now want to personalize your variables, choose Personalize Variables.

The Personalize Variables dialog box appears.

       5.      Personalize the relevant variables by adding them to the selection.

       6.      To change or reset the personalized variable values, repeat this procedure.

Result

You have configured variables to meet your requirements. The result is displayed with your personalized values the next time you execute the query. The values that you specify for these variables are stored until you change them again. When you execute the query, the dialog box for specifying values for these variables does not appear.
