Function documentation Local Formula  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to perform calculations locally on the key figure data in the analysis mode. You can use only those calculation functions that are provided in the Local Formula dialog. These calculation functions recalculate the key figure data, and override the standard OLAP processor calculations.

Note

This function is different from the Calculate Result As…function that you use for recalculating the results rows displayed in the report according to particular criteria.

Features

You can perform scientific calculations such as EXP, LOG, LOG10, NODIM, and SQRT on the key figure data. You can also perform additions, subtractions, multiplications, and divisions on the data of a particular key figure or multiple key figures.

Note

You can use the NODIM function if you want to perform calculations on the data of multiple key figures that have different units of measure.

When you execute the formula, the calculated data is displayed in a separate new key figure column in the report.

You can save the current navigational state with the calculation you have added as a query view and use this as a data provider for the BEx Web Application Designer, BEx Report Designer and Visual Composer.

Activities

In the analysis mode, in a report, click the key figure name cell with the secondary mouse button and choose Add Local Formula.

In the Local Formula dialog, provide a name for the calculated key figure, select the required key figure, and apply a formula.

Note

You can also call the dialog box by double clicking the key figure in the navigation pane with the primary mouse button.
