Use

In the BEx Broadcaster you can use text variables in different places. The variables are used as placeholders and are filled with the relevant text when the broadcast setting is executed.

For example, you can use text variables when writing the subject line and contents of an e-mail when the document is sent by e-mail. The same applies when defining the file name and display name of a document that is distributed to the portal. See Broadcast by E-Mail and Broadcast to the Portal.

With the Broadcast by Exception, which you normally perform in system administration, you can use text variables when assigning parameters to an alert, for example.

Features

The possible text variants appear in the BEx Broadcaster as context sensitive. Depending on which settings were made in a broadcast setting, different text variables are to be used in different places. The Broadcaster only offers you the text variables that are available.

The following text variable groupings exist:

The selection of the text variables is not offered in the broadcasting wizard.
