Use

If you want to automate the execution of a Reporting Agent scheduling package, you can include it in a process chain run as an application process.

Prerequisites

You have assigned one or more Reporting Agent settings to a scheduling package.

Procedure

...

       1.      Call the process chain maintenance.

In the Reporting Agent, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Chain Maintenance from the toolbar. The Process Chain Maintenance Plan View screen appears.

       2.      In the left-hand screen area of the required This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Display Components, navigate to the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Chain in which you want to include the Reporting Agent process and double-click to select it. The system displays the process chain plan view in the right-hand side of the screen.

If no suitable process chain is available, create a new process chain. For more information, see Creating Process Chains.

       3.      To insert a Reporting Agent process, choose  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Types from the left-hand area of the screen. The system displays the available process categories.

       4.      Use Drag&Drop to insert the required application process type into the process chain. The dialog box for inserting a process variant appears.

       5.      In the Process Variants field, enter the name of the application process you want to insert into the process chain. An input help that lists all the process variants that have already been created is available.

Choose  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Create if you want to create a new process variant. A dialog box appears in which you can enter a description for your application process.

Enter the description for your application process and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Continue. The process maintenance screen for your application process appears. The system displays information about the variant at the top of the screen:

-         Technical name

-         Description (this field is input ready)

-         Last changed by

-         Last changed on

The lower area, Reporting Agent Package, is used to display and enter the configuration of the respective application process. 

-         Application process type

-         This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  This field is input ready

Enter the name of the Reporting Agent scheduling package that you want to include as an application process in the process chain. Input help is available. Save your entries.

-         After saving, the system displays the description of the chosen scheduling package and, in the Reporting Agent Setting area it displays the Reporting Agent setting components with the last changed date.

       6.      Go back. The Process Chain Maintenance Plan View screen appears.

Result

You have included the required Reporting Agent scheduling package in a process chain.
