What You Need to Know

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text InfoArea

This tree contains all the DataStore objects, InfoCubes and InfoObjects that are characteristics (with master data), that are available in the BI system. These are arranged according to InfoArea.

Note

Choose the Expand Nodes option from the context menu of an InfoArea to display all of the objects that belong to this particular InfoArea, in a hierarchy .

If you do not want to display the lower levels, choose the Collapse Nodes option from the context menu of the InfoArea.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text InfoProviders Used

This tree contains those InfoProviders that can be included in the join and for which you can define a join condition for a join that already exists in the InfoProvider.

·        InfoObjects that are characteristics (with master data) and that are either already included as InfoProviders in the join, or are attributes of an InfoProvider in the join.

·        DataStore objects whose keys contain an InfoObject that is either already included as an InfoProvider in the join, or that is an attribute of an InfoProvider in the join.

·        InfoCubes that are either already included in the join, or have InfoObjects in their dimensions that are already in the InfoSet.

The Related InfoProviders tree contains the following objects in particular:

·        InfoProviders that are already available in the join, because each InfoProvider can be included in the join more than once.

·        InfoProviders for which you can define a join condition with the first InfoProvider that you choose when the InfoSet is created.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text All DataStore Objects

This tree contains all the DataStore objects that are available in the BI system.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text All InfoObjects

This tree contains all the InfoObjects that are characteristics (with master data) that are available in the BI system.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text All InfoCubes

This tree contains all the standard InfoCubes that are available in the BI system.

The default layout is the Related InfoProviders tree. SAP recommends that you use the default layout.

The system is, however, able to store one of the alternative layouts as a personal setting. You must exit the InfoSet maintenance using F3.

Caution

Although, in principle, you can include every DataStore object, every InfoCube and every InfoObject that is a characteristic (with master data) in a join, you must remember that not every DataStore object or characteristic supports the definition of a join condition and that this is a prerequisite for activating the InfoSet.

You access the InfoProvider maintenance screen for a particular InfoProvider by clicking on the corresponding option in the context menu.

Example

To access the maintenance screen for a DataStore object, call the context menu for the respective InfoProvider and choose the Display DataStore Object option.

Join Control

On the right-hand side of the screen there is a join-control. You use the join-control to display the InfoProviders used and the relationships between them. For more information, see Join-Control.

Area for Logs and Text Maintenance

In the area underneath the join control, logs and texts that you want to maintain are displayed as and when you require them.
