Use

In this section, we will explain enhanced basics for using conditions in connection with two structures, active presentation hierarchies and hierarchically displayed axes, illustrated with example scenarios.

Scope

Take note of the following when using conditions if you are using two structures, active presentation hierarchies, the function Display as Hierarchy on axes or the property Suppress Results Rows in a query:

·        In queries with two structures, you can also apply the conditions the same way you do with queries with one structure: The structural components of both structures are available for selection in the definition.

See Query with Two Structures and Threshold Value Conditions: And/Or-Linking and Query with Two Structures and Ranked-List Conditions.

·        Ranked list conditions are not possible in queries with active presentation hierarchies (= rule 7). Threshold conditions for single characteristics and characteristic combinations are possible, however.

See Query with a Presentation Hierarchy and Conditions and Query with Two Presentation Hierarchies and Conditions.

·        Ranked list conditions and threshold value conditions are possible in queries with a hierarchically displayed axis, but only when the hierarchical display is expanded up to the specific characteristic. Conditions for characteristic combinations in a query with a hierarchically displayed axis are not possible.

See Query with Hierarchically Displayed Axis and Conditions

Overview

The following table shows which types of conditions are possible in the various queries and what you need to watch for, for example, when you use active presentation hierarchies in the query.
