  Filter in the iPPE Workbench

Use

You can use the filter to control which iPPE objects are displayed in the navigation area and detail area of the iPPE Workbench.

You can set the context in which you are working, such as when you are balancing lines.

To reset a filter, choose . This deactivates the filter so that it no longer affects the display or your work in the iPPE workbench.

The filter criteria correspond to those defined in the field catalog for the current user profile .

Features

  • You can create your own filter, copy an existing filter, and decide whether other users can also use or change the filter.

  • You can control how the product structure is displayed in the navigation area by specifying a plant or usage, and specifying effectivity variants or assigning characteristic values.

  • You can load a material or production version from the filter.

  • You can set the user profile in which the filter is to be used in a particular context.

  • In addition to the information displayed in the header area, there are additional options and five tab pages in the Filter Values area allowing you to control the display and maintenance of objects.

    • Parameter Effectivity Indicator / Parameter Effectivity in Detail Area :

      These indicators activate the fields on the Parameter Variants tab page, and make them ready for input. The values are then used to control the display in the navigation area and/or detail area. Active Filter and/or Active Filter (Detail Screen) are visible in the header.

    • Parameter Variant Tab Page

      You can enter a class, class type, start-up parameters, and date to control how your product structure is displayed.

  • Char. Val. Asmt (Characteristic Value Assignment)

    Here you can enter and reset a characteristic value assignment for the material in the access object area.

    When you have already recorded a configuration for the material or product in the material or product master, the configuration is displayed in the Global Characteristic Valuation area. You can change these values and save them for this filter. You can load the results of the value assignments in the navigation area.

    Note Note

    If you change the values, it has no effect on the configuration of the material/product in the material/product master.

  • Explosion Options

    Here you can specify which data influences the display when the structure is exploded.

    You can set the user profile in which the filter is to be used.

    The system offers only those user profiles for selection in the filter that are assigned to the user in iPPE Customizing.

  • Attribs (Attributes)

    There are two levels when you use attributes to filter the display in the navigation area. In the Options section, you can choose how the objects found by the filter criteria (as shown in the lower part of the dialog box) are displayed. The objects can be:

    Hidden

    Inactive

    Highlighted

    In the filter criteria, you can define whether the objects found:

    Correspond exactly to the value entered

    Correspond to every value except the value entered

    Result from the entered value being ignored.

    All objects changed with change number 12345, that include the description Car A, do not belong to the Convertible class, and are assigned to class type 300 are hidden.

      You can decide which objects the system is to hide in the navigation area when you work with this filter.

    Actions

    Creating a Filter
    1. Choose Filter in the application toolbar.

      The input fields and tab pages for the filter are displayed in the detail area.

    2. Enter a name for the filter and state which users are authorized to use and change the filter.

    3. Enter a material or data for a production version, if applicable.

    4. Specify a work context, if applicable.

    5. Enter any other data you require on the tab pages.

    6. To save the filter, choose Save Filter .

      The filter is now saved and active.Filter active is displayed on thetitle bar .

    Copying a Filter
    1. Choose Filter in the application toolbar.

    2. Enter the name of the filter that you wish to copy.

    3. Choose Copy Filter .

    4. The Copy Filter dialog box appears.

    5. Enter a name for the new filter and choose .

      The filter is copied and all entries are transferred to the copy.
