Creating and Assigning the Planning Calendar If you want to plan line networks with groups of alternative lines you have to define a planning calendar in APO and assign it to the location and the procedure package so that the working shifts can be calculated in planning.
You save the planning calendar in the APO System in the form of a
time stream
. Using the planning calendar, you can define the periods (days and shifts) in which the lines are productive. This is particularly important if not all lines are productive at the same time in all shifts.
You can choose Shifts as the Calculation rule if you want to create Shift packages using the
LP Procedure
. However, you can also use
Week (weekdays)
as the
Calculation rule
if you only want to create
Daily packages
.
You assign the planning calendar to the location and the procedure package you want to use for Model Mix Planning.
You create the planning calendar in Customizing, under
. Here, select
Factory calendar (with gaps)
and enter the valid
Factory calendar
in the
Calendar
field. In the
Calculation Rule
tab page, choose
Shifts
or
Weeks (Weekdays)
depending on whether you want shift packages or daily packages to be created in planning. After generating periods, you can display them in the
Periods
tab page.
You then assign the planning calendar to the
Location
in the master data of the location by entering it in the
Production calendar
field in the
Calendar
tab page.
You assign the planning calendar to the procedure package by entering it in the
Reference calendar
field in the Customizing activity
Define Procedure Packages
