 Equal Distribution

Definition

You can use equal distribution to evenly distribute the occurrence of a certain characteristic over the planning period.

Example

You produce a certain percentage of right-hand drive vehicles. You want to distribute the production of these vehicles evenly over the planning horizon so that your assembly capacities are evenly loaded.For this purpose, you define an even distribution restriction with the following object dependency:

Steering_wheel_r = “Yes”

Moreover, you must define the following period of validity and weighting for the restriction:

  • The restriction is valid from the 1 st June 2001 in the first shift and is valid to infinity.

  • The restriction has not been given very high priority. You cannot assign a hard restriction when using the even distribution restriction as this would not make good business sense.
