Materials Planning ProcedureYou can use the materials planning procedure to plan individual lines and line networks with groups of alternative lines. This is a simple procedure mainly intended for use in the long-term planning horizon should you want to calculate the net requirements for planned independent requirements. The system calculates the uncovered requirements and creates planned orders for them. This is done on a 1:1 basis. That is, the system creates a planned order for every requirement where the quantity and availability date of the planned order corresponds to the requirement quantity and date.
You can only use this procedure by including it in a procedure package for the model mix planning run. You do this in Customizing for Model Mix Planning. You cannot start this procedure from interactive sequencing, as it does not create any order sequences. Also, you cannot set any other parameters.
The procedure is defined in the function module
/SAPAPO/SEQH_PA01_CALL.
You can select it in Customizing using the technical description 01SAP_PA01 Simple Materials Planning Procedure where you add it to a procedure package.
If you want to create planned orders using the materials planning procedure, you must select a "
requirement-oriented
" entry in the
Planning Basis
field. The lot size setting (cumulated or equal to 1) is not significant as the lot sizes of the planned orders created by the procedure depend on the quantity of each requirement.
