Creating Product Structure Variants in the Tabular Display 

You can create variants for nodes from the product variant structure (access variants andcomponent variants) and assembly headers directly in the tabular display, without using detail screens.

Prerequisites

·        You have accessed the tabular display in the iPPE Workbench Professional.

·        You are in change mode in the iPPE Workbench Professional.

·        If required, you have activated a change number in the iPPE Workbench Professional.

·        You have loaded the access node or structure node for which you wish to create variants into the tabular display.

Creating an Assembly Item

...

       1.      Select the assembly header in the tabular display and right-click to access the context menu.

       2.      Choose Create Relationship – Assembly Item.

       3.      The dialog box Create Assembly Relationshipis displayed.

       4.      Select an assembly alternative and enter a name for the assembly item. When there is only one assembly alternative, it is selected automatically by the system.

       5.      Choose  Continue.

The assembly item is displayed in the navigation tree and the tabular display below the relevant assembly header.

In the tabular display, the assembly item is displayed one hierarchy level below the assembly header to which it is assigned (displayed in the Level column). In the Alternative column, you can see which assembly alternative the assembly items belong to.

Save your data.

Creating an Access Variant/Component Variant/Assembly Header

...

       1.      Select the node in the tabular display and right-click to access the context menu.

       2.      Choose Create Object ® Access Variant or Component Variant (Assembly Header).

       3.      The dialog box Create Access Variant or Create Component Variant (Create Assembly Header) appears.

       4.      Enter a name and choose  Continue.

The variant is displayed in the navigation tree and in the tabular display below the relevant node.

In the tabular display, the variant is displayed one hierarchy level below the node to which it is assigned (displayed in the Level column).

If a node is on hierarchy level .1, the variants of this node are on level ..2.

If a node is on hierarchy level ...3, the variants of this node are on level ....4.

If an assembly group is on hierarchy level .1, the assembly header is on level ..2 and the assembly items are on level ...3.

       5.      Save your data.
