Searching Log Records

You can search for a string in a log file. You can download the results of your search to a comma separated value (CSV) file and then display the file in a human-readable format and take advantage of the analysis tools provided by Microsoft Excel.

1. In the pane on the right, in the Find field, enter the string you want to find.
2. From the In column dropdown box, select the column in which you want to find the string. For more information about the columns that are available for list formatted logs, see List of Columns for List and SAT Trace Formatted Logs.
3. If you want to perform a case sensitive search, select the Case sensitive indicator.

Choose
Search.
All log records that meet the search criteria you specified are displayed in a separate table at the bottom of the pane on the right.

Optionally, click in the column in which you want to find a string, in the context menu, choose Search for a String <Column name>, and then in the dialog box that appears, specify your search criteria.

1. Click the search tab at the bottom of the pane on the right with the secondary mouse button and, in the context menu, choose Save to file.
2. Save the file to a directory of your choice.
