Using SAPlpd Options for SWIN
Output
Use SAPlpd options to improve the speed and appearance of the SWIN output:

1. Open SAPlpd.
2. Depending on the desired function, activate or deactivate the following options:

Activate color printing |
Choose Options ® Color ® Use Color Output is printed in color on color printers. This option can also be useful for black and white printing, as the quality of the print screen is improved by selecting it.
Color background shading is only printed if you also activate Options ® Background ® Print backgrounds for colors. |

Activate halftone printing |
You have the following options: · Choose Options ® Color ® Use gray scale Colors appear as line patterns and hatching. · Choose Options ® Color ® Use colors In general, this option produces darker halftones with finer textures than Use halftones, even for black and white printing. Use the Use color option if you want to print halftone background shading as well as halftone characters.
Color background shading is only printed if you also activate Options ® Background ® Print backgrounds (Color Prints) and Options ® Background ®Print backgrounds (Gray scale prints). |

Deactivate color and halftone printing to increase printing speed. |
Choose Options ® Color ® Default The Microsoft Windows printer driver decides whether the output is printed in color, in black and white with a finer print image (simulated color printing), or with shading. This increases the print speed. You deactivate printing of background shading separately. |

Activating or deactivating background shading |
To activate: Choose Options ® Background ® select the Print Background option for color output or for gray-scale printing. Depending upon whether you have a color printer and upon the Colors settings, background shadings may be printed in color or halftone. You must activate background shading and color printing if you want to print bar charts (such as those generated by the ABAP runtime analysis) or lists that use light background colors. To deactivate: Choose Options ® Background and ensure that neither of the options is selected. |

Print lines and frames as graphics |
Choose Graphic ® Print as Graphic. Frames and lines in SAP reports and texts, such as address boxes in mail messages, are printed as graphics. If frames and lines do not print correctly as graphics, then try the Do not print option. This may produce the best-looking output, especially if the other options to improve appearance are selected. |

Set line and frame printing to improve speed. |
Choose Graphic ® Print replacement characters or Do not print Print substitute characters prints out frames and lines using the - and + characters. Do not print means frames and lines are not printed. This increases the print speed. |
