Lead Time
Scheduled time span between sending a delivery from the ship-from location and the probable arrival at the location receiving the delivery.
SAP Supply Network Collaboration uses lead time as follows:
● For scheduling
If a document contains only the delivery date/time or only the shipping date/time, SAP SNC calculates the complementary date/time using scheduling.
● For alerts
As supplier, you cannot cover customer requirements lying within the lead time in the usual way. SAP SNC generates an alert for the following situations, for example:
○ If a scheduling agreement release contains uncovered schedule lines within the lead time (see Release Alerts).
○
If the projected stock within the
lead time reaches a critical value (see
Inventory Alerts for
Replenishment Planning and
Inventory Alerts for
SNI).
As the lead time, SAP SNC uses the transportation duration of a means of transport that you have assigned to the transportation lane between the ship-from location and the receiving location. SAP SNC uses the following transportation lanes:
● If the customer and the goods recipient are the same, the delivery goes to the customer location. The transportation lane between the ship-from location and the customer location is relevant here.
● If the goods recipient is different from the customer, the delivery goes to the ship-to location. The transportation lane between ship-from and ship-to locations is relevant here, if it exists. If this transportation lane does not exist, SAP SNC uses the transportation lane between the ship-from and the customer locations.
If you have assigned several means of transport to a transportation lane, SAP SNC uses the transportation duration of the slowest means of transport.
