Packing Screen
Web user interface in ASN processing in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) that contains the functions for the manual and automatic packing of items in an advanced shipping notification (ASN).
As long as you have not yet published an ASN, you, as supplier, can manually or automatically pack the items of an ASN on the packing screen. As customer and as supplier, you can display the packing data of a published ASN on the packing screen.
The packing screen contains the following screen areas:
● ASN Items
● HU – Hierarchical View
● HU Details, Packed Products, and Auxiliary Packaging Materials tab pages
The ASN Items screen area contains the ASN items. The packing status of an ASN item is depicted in color. An ASN item can have the following packing statuses:
● Not Packed
● Partially Packed
● Fully Packed
● Overpacked
In this screen area, you call automatic packing for a selected item or select the ASN item that you want to pack manually in an existing handling unit (HU).
The HU – Hierarchical View screen area displays the HUs that you have already created for an ASN either manually or using automatic packing. In this screen area, you can create and process HUs. To pack ASN items manually on a single-level or on multiple levels, you define the HU hierarchies, in particular, in this screen area. An HU hierarchy represents an HU and its contents on the various packaging levels. In single-level packing, an HU contains the product to be packed directly. In multilevel packing, an HU contains more HUs in one or more packaging levels. The innermost packaging level contains the products to be packed. Depending on the quantity of the ASN items to be packed and the capacity of the HUs, there might be several HUs for an ASN or – in the case of multilevel packing – HU hierarchies.
The hierarchical view contains the following information (see Example):
● Information for a handling unit
The hierarchical view shows the character string <packaging material>-<HU number> for each handling unit in an HU hierarchy. The HU number is prefixed, therefore, with the product number of the packaging material (separated by a minus sign).
A plus or a minus sign before the packaging material indicates whether the hierarchy (or within an HU hierarchy, a subtree) is expanded or collapsed.
○ The HU hierarchy is expanded: -<packaging material>-<HU number>
○ The HU hierarchy is collapsed: +<packaging material>-<HU number>
● Information for a packed product
The packed products are on the innermost packaging level. The hierarchical view shows the character string <product number>-<packed quantity>-<unit of measure> for a product. The product number of the packed product is followed by the packed quantity and the unit of measure – divided by a minus sign.
The character string for a handling unit is a hotspot. By clicking the handling unit, you can expand or collapse the HU hierarchy or a subtree. By selecting the HU row, you can display the HU data.
This screen area contains the HU Details, Packed Products, and Auxiliary Packaging Materials tab pages, depending on the context. The HU Details tab page contains the HU data that you selected in the hierarchical view. The Packed Products tab page contains the products that are packed directly in a handling unit. Accordingly, the Auxiliary Packaging Materials tab page contains the auxiliary packaging materials that are packed directly in a handling unit. The Packed Products tab page is available for HUs on all packaging levels. However, the tab page does not contain any data for a handling unit on a higher packaging level.
You can use the Business Add-In /SCF/ASNHUUI to modify the packing screen in ASN processing as follows:
● You can change the sequence of the screen areas on the packing screen depending on the screen mode.
● You can specify the sequence in which SAP SNC displays the HUs that are on one packaging level.
