You can save information in Customizing projects by status values, keywords and documentation types.

Status values give information about the progress of a customizing project or project IMG activities. They are meaningful ten-character codes and short texts.

The following standard status values are delivered:

The project documentation allows you to document your SAP System implementation or upgrade Customizing projects. You can use the various documentation types as templates to structure your project documentation. You can also create your own documentation types for particular purposes, e.g.

• logs or decisions

• project standards

• conceptual design

• Problem or error messages

Every documentation type has a unique key. There are two types of project documentation:

• project-specific documentation

• cross-project documentation

Standard status, keyword and documentation type values for a project are all specified in the same way in the project management. If no values have yet been assigned to a project, the project administrator can use the project template, which contains project-independent status values, keywords and documentation types.

The values in the project template are available to all projects. The project administrator specifies which values can be used in the current project by assigning selected values from the project template to the project. The project team member can then assign each IMG activity in his or her project to the available status values, keywords and documentation types, in the project.

The graphic shows the relationship between the use of status values, keywords and documentation types in project management and project performance. The values available in the project management in the top left of the picture are the starting point for the use in the project performance at the bottom right.
