S-Users in the Maintenance Optimizer 

Definition

Your S-User is the user-ID assigned to you by SAP which you use to log on to the SAP Support Portal.

 

Prerequisites

Your system administrator must have performed the following SAP Implementation Guide (IMG) activities:

●      Maintain User for Communication with SAP Service and Support

●      Assign S-user for SAP Support Portal functionality or with the transaction AISUSER

 

Your S-User must be assigned to the same customer or corporate number as the S-User which your administrator entered in the SAP-OSS RFC destination. If this is not the case, the Maintenance Optimizer will not be able to read your download basket

 

Use

Always log on to the SAP Support Portal with the same S-User which is assigned to your Solution Manager user.

 

If you do not do this, the Maintenance Optimizer will not be able to confirm and approve any files you place in that S-User’s Download Basket.

 

Integration

The Maintenance Optimizer is integrated with the SAP Support Portal. It does the following:

●      Takes you directly to the appropriate area of the SAP Software Distribution Center for the product which you have selected for maintenance. (Logon with your assigned S-User)

●      Reads the Download Basket of your assigned S-User.

●      Approves selected items in the Download Basket so you may download them.

●      Records the selected items in the maintenance procedure.
