Product Quantities in the Smallest Packaging
Unit
The smallest packaging unit of a packaging specification (PS) contains the products to be delivered. You control which and how many products the system packs into the smallest packaging unit as follows:
● In the PS content, you specify the products and the quantity ratio of the products. To do so, you enter a base quantity for each product.

● If the PS content only contains one product, we recommend that you enter 1 as the base quantity. You control the actual quantity in the smallest packaging unit using the target quantity of the PS level for the smallest packaging unit.
● In the case of several products, you enter small whole numbers that reflect the quantity ratio of the products in the smallest packaging unit.
● You use the target quantity, rounding quantity, and minimum quantity in the PS level for the innermost packaging level to control which product quantities the system actually packs in the smallest packaging unit. These quantities are nondimensional factors with which the system multiplies the base quantities in the PS content. This results in the actual target quantity, the actual rounding quantity, and the actual minimum quantity.
If you want to pack a right indicator and a left indicator in a box, you enter both the right and the left indicator with quantity 1 in the PS content. You enter 1 as the target quantity in the PS level for the innermost packaging level. If you want to pack 10 right and 10 left indicators in a box, you also enter 1 for the quantities in the PS content. You enter 10as the target quantity in the PS level.
If you want to pack 10 right and 20 left indicators in a box, you enter the quantity 1 for the right indicator and the quantity 2 for the left indicator in the PS content. You enter 10as the target quantity in the PS level.
