Download SAP EarlyWatch Alert Manually

Use

You want to check the data download function when setting up SAP EarlyWatch Alert.

You want to know the current status of your data, independently of the weekly reports.

Procedure

I...

       1.      Start the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.

       2.      Choose Solution Monitoring ® EarlyWatch Alert in the Operations screen.

You go to the overview of all SAP EarlyWatch Alert services.

       3.      Choose Create Services.

       4.      Choose the SAP EarlyWatch Alert Service Create Service for a system.

       5.      Choose the planned date.

       6.      Confirm your entries.

The system creates an initial SAP EarlyWatch Alert Service.

The newly-created SAP EarlyWatch Alert appears with the symbol Wait for ’Download Data’.

       7.      Choose the SAP EarlyWatch alert for a system.

You go to a screen in which the further procedure is explained.

       8.      Call the Service Data Control Center (transaction: SDCCN), in the relevant system, with the Call Service Data Control Center pushbutton.

You go to the Service Data Control Center of the selected satellite system.

       9.      Choose the Create New pushbutton in the Service Data Control Center.

   10.      Choose the Refresh Sessions task.

A dialog box appears.

   11.      To refresh the task immediately, choose Now.

   12.      To schedule the task once, choose the Run Task Once  pushbutton.

   13.      Choose your Service Data Control Center Target RFC Destination from the possible entries help.

   14.      Confirm your entries.

You get a task number

   15.      Confirm your entries.

Your task number appears in a row in the To Do tab.

   16.      Select this row.

   17.      Choose Edit ® Start Now.

   18.      Confirm your entries.

   19.      You can monitor the job in the Task Log tab.

   20.      Go back to the SAP Solution Manager system.

   21.      Refresh your data in the SAP Solution Manager.

Successful download is indicated by a symbol in the SAP Solution Manager overview. The alert data is then available in the SAP Solution Manager.

   22.      Choose the link to the SAP EarlyWatch Alert, to process your session data in the SAP Solution Manager.

   23.      Proceed as described.

You can start the background job yourself, with Start Service Processing.

Result

You can see the status of the data for your systems, in the SAP Solution Manager. The performance data is for the last complete week. All other data is from at least the date of the download.

You can generate the SAP EarlyWatch Alert Report as an MS Word or HTML document, or display the session in SAP EarlyWatch Alert display mode.
