Function documentation Data Transfer Monitoring Using the CIF Cockpit Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use the CIF cockpit to centrally monitor the transfer of data between your SAP APO system and all the connected ERP systems via Core Interface (CIF). You gain a quick cross-system and cross-client overview of the following areas:

·        Monitoring

Here you get information about the current situation of the data transfer and the transfer load of the current operation.

·        Settings

Here you get information about Customizing settings that are relevant to the transfer.

If required, you can go directly from the display to the relevant transaction, where you can get detailed information or rectify a problem.

Integration

The CIF cockpit makes use of the SCM queue manager unnecessary.

From the CIF cockpit, you can go to the Computing Center Managing System (CCMS) by using Goto ® CCMS Monitor.

Prerequisites

To use the CIF cockpit, you need an RFC user and dialog authorization. We recommend that you create a special RFC destination for the CIF cockpit application for each system connected to SAP APO. You can do this in the SAP SCM Implementation Guide (IMG) under Integration with SAP Components ® Integration of SAP SCM and ERP Systems  ® Basic Settings for Creating the System Landscape ® Assign RFC Destinations to Various Application Cases. In this way, you can restrict the user’s authorization specifically for using the CIF cockpit.

User Profile

Depending on the usage area, the quantity of information for performance measures, background jobs in SAP APO and the ERP system, entries in the SAP APO and ERP system application logs, and the CIF comparison/reconciliation of transaction data can differ to a large extent. By creating a user profile, you can configure in a user-specific way the period during which the system is to select information.

You can create, change, and delete user profiles under Settings ® User Profile.

Saving and Deleting Performance Data

In accordance with the setting in the user profile, the CIF cockpit evaluates the performance measurements for certain intervals. You can use the program Saving and Deleting Performance Data from CIF Cockpit (/SAPAPO/CC_SAVE_PERF_DATA) to save these evaluations over a certain period of time. You can then have the system display the evaluations you have saved in the CIF cockpit. The smallest evaluation interval for saving and displaying performance data that has been saved is one hour.

We recommend that you schedule this program as a background job to run every night. If you specify the last two days as the evaluation period, you can be sure that you do not lose any evaluation data. To schedule the program as a background job, in Customizing for Integration, choose Basic Settings for Data Transfer ® CIF Cockpit ® Save CIF Cockpit Performance Data.

During each program run, the program also deletes saved data records that have reached the minimum age for deletion.

Activities

To call the CIF cockpit, on the SAP Easy Access screen for mySAP Supply Chain Management, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization ® APO Administration ® Integration ® Monitor ® CIF Cockpit.

The system selects basic data for all connected system and clients, and displays the systems and system combinations with the relevant information categories in the navigation tree.

When you double-click a node in the navigation tree, the system displays the relevant information on the right-hand side of the screen.

You can use the Details/Transaction icon to go to the relevant transaction. If this icon is missing, there is no transaction for this information. If the icon is grayed out, you do not have authorization for this transaction.
