Using Values from Different Periods
A demand planner is creating the baseline forecast for a product for which demand is growing continuously. The growth pattern can be mapped as a linear trend. The planner is interested in knowing the average percentage growth for each period compared with its previous period. He executes this macro to obtain this information. In the example, the result is shown in the row % growth over previous period. This gives him the possibility to check the consistency of the forecast figures. A great variation in the growth figures may lead him to modify the forecast.
For this example, please refer to the macro book SDP Book 9AEXAM VIEW (SALES DATA).
